The multimedia installation Gym Society can be described as an audio-visual experiment by three artists: Igor Omulecki (video, photography), Piotr Pawlak (guitar, sampler), Michał Gos (percussion, sampler). The audio and the visual parts were created separately, independently of each other. In postproduction, to the video created by Omulecki was added the music composed by Pawlak and Gos. While working on their compositions, the artists concentrated on their own craft, namely their daily routine exercises – referenced to in the title of the piece. The video Gym Society consists of a series of abstract moving images and forms found by the artist in the human and animal environment. The gist of the experiment was to check whether the images created intuitively will interact with music, an on the other hand, in what way the image will fill the soundscape. The premier presentation of the project was an audio-visual performance – the video played from a projector was confronted with music performed live in the gallery.
